COMMUNITY INPUT
This is the time that any member of the public may address the Board on anything that falls under the jurisdiction of the Board of Education, provided the person submits a completed Registration Card to Address the Board form to the Clerk of the Board or his/her designee prior to the time the Chairperson calls the item for the Boards consideration. This is not meant to be a debating period. Complaints and problems relating to policy matters will be referred to the Superintendent. 
The person wishing to address the Board shall, when recognized by the Chairperson of the Board, step up to the podium/microphone and announce his/her name. The Chairperson shall, in the interest of facilitating the business of the Board, limit the amount of time which a member of the public may use in addressing the Board to three [3] minutes, unless the Chairperson, or a majority of the Board determines that a different limit is appropriate.

Approve all Consent Items as detailed in Items XV.b. – XV.i.

b.
Approve Agreement for Programs and Services between the Redlands Unified School District and the Colton-Redlands-Yucaipa Regional Occupational Program (CRY-ROP), effective July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. Authorize Juan Cabral, Superintendent, to sign on behalf of the Board (Appendix Item).

The Colton-Redlands-Yucaipa Regional Occupational Program (CRY-ROP) accelerates the skill development and education of high school students in the region to prepare them to be career ready, technically skilled and academically prepared. This agreement, pursuant to Education Code 52300 et seq., provides for a cooperative agreement with the CRY-ROP districts to establish and maintain programs for the purpose of providing career technical education and services to the students of the participating districts.

c.
Approve Agreement No. 24/25-0127, with the Office of the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools regarding the State Preschool Program District Classroom Agreement, effective July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027 (Appendix Item).

In accordance with the provisions of the Education Code of the State of California, the Office of the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools in coordination with the District, agrees to furnish classrooms with essential fixtures and facilities.

d.
Approve Change Order No. 7 with Wakeco, Inc., for HVAC Upgrades & New Offices at the District Office, Bid 6-23, in the amount of $10,424.42, to be funded by Covid and/or Redevelopment Agency Funds (Appendix Item).

This change order is for Bid 6-23, for HVAC Upgrades New Offices at the District Office, which the Board awarded on December 13, 2022. This change order addresses unforeseen conditions and contains an explanation of the reason for the change order, the addition of days in the contract, if any, the amount, and the amended contract amount.

e.
Accept as complete and approve filing a Notice of Completion with the County Hall of Records for Bid 5-23 with Enko Systems Inc., for a P/A System at Various Sites. Authorize Jason Hill, Assistant Superintendent, Business Services, to sign on behalf of the Board (Appendix Item).

On October 12, 2023, Enko Systems Inc., was awarded Bid 5-23 for P/A Systems at Various Sites. Authorized District staff has verified that work has been completed in accordance with bid specifications as of April 17, 2024: Redlands East Valley High School, Clement Middle School and Cram Elementary School.

f.
Ratify/Approve requests for Attendance Boundary Information (Appendix Item).

Business and Professions Code 11010, requires title companies and/or developers to contact the school district in writing, indicating the location of a proposed housing development. The District is required to respond indicating which school will serve the development in a statement which is “approved or ratified” by the Board of Education. The District response includes the current attendance areas and a statement that “projects served by schools which are at or over enrollment capacity may alternatively be served by another school with available capacity.”

g.
Approve Reject Claim Number 635558, 636843 and 637709  in accordance with Government Code Section 913.

h.
Accept Donations. Instruct the secretary to write letters of appreciation on behalf of the Board (Appendix Item).

i.
Approve Payment Transmittal Numbers 24001515 through 24001566 for May 7, 2024, in the amount of $1,979,808.88. Authorize Jason Hill, Assistant Superintendent, Business Services, to sign on behalf of the Board (Appendix Item).

Approve 4 members of the Citrus Valley High School Boys’ and Girls’ Swim Team to travel by van, to Clovis West High School in Fresno, California, where they will compete in the CIF State Swim Meet, effective May 9, 2024 through May 11, 2024.

To be funded by donations; One day of school will be missed.

c.
Approve 2 students from Redlands East Valley High School to travel by car, to the Los Angeles Convention Center, to participate in the International Science & Engineering Fair where they will present their science projects, effective May 12, 2024 through May 17, 2024.

To be funded by donations; Five days of school will be missed.

d.
Approve 50 members of the Redlands High School Football Team to travel by bus and plane, to Oahu, Hawaii, where they will compete in a football game against Radford High School, effective August 13, 2024 through August 17, 2024.

To be funded by donations; Four days of school will be missed.

e.
Approve 65 members of the Citrus Valley High School Advanced Mixed Choir and Advanced Treble Class to travel by bus, to YMCA Camp Arbolado in Angeles Oaks, California, where they will gather for their annual Choir Retreat and get a jump start on learning music and group bonding, effective August 16, 2024 through August 18, 2024.

To be funded by donations; Zero days of school will be missed.

f.
Approve Revision of Board Policy 6146.1 – High School Graduation Requirements [First Reading] (Appendix Item).

The revision to this Board Policy will bring it current with California School Boards Association (CSBA) guidelines, District practices and procedures, Education Code and/or Legislation.

g.
Approve Redlands Adult School Schedule of Classes for the 2024-2025 school year, effective August 2024 through June 2025 (Appendix Item).

All programs, courses, and classes conducted as adult education shall be open to adults and listed in the school district's catalog of adult education classes provided to the public and shall be under the supervision and jurisdiction of the adult education administrator as determined by the governing board of the school district (Education Code 52523(a)).

h.
Approve recommendation of the District Curriculum Committee for the following new courses in the Secondary Course of Study for the 2024-2025 school year- High School Courses: Broadway Orchestra II, SAI Math I, SAI Math II, SAI Math III; Alternative Diploma Courses: Transitions Dynamic, English 9/ELD Dynamic, English 10/ELD Dynamic, English 11/ELD Dynamic, English 12/ELD Dynamic, Integrated Math I Dynamic, Integrated Math II Dynamic, Biology/Life Science Dynamic, Earth Science Dynamic, World History Dynamic, US History Dynamic, American Government Dynamic, Economics Dynamic; Middle School Course: Dance (Appendix Item).

In accordance with Board Policy 6141 - Curriculum Development and Evaluation, members of the District Level Curriculum Committee met on April 7, 2024, to comprehensively review the middle and high school course proposals. They have unanimously recommended approval within the RUSD Secondary Course of Study for the 2024-2025 school year.

The Governing Board of Redlands Unified School District has deemed it necessary to reduce or discontinue particular classified services for the 2024-2025 school year in accordance with Education Code sections 45117 and 45308. The classified services set forth in the Resolution shall be reduced or discontinued, effective July 1, 2024.
